Sad.

Guys, remember that vehicles exiting the freeway have the right of way across all lanes of the feeder road. You have to yield to them.

the truck driver DID have the right of way, but they did up when they decided not to stop after the wreck and turn on the road.

i pass the spot where this took place on the feeder road every day and the road that the truck turned on, memorial brook, is only a couple hundred feet past the exit. the truck would have had to cross 3 lanes while braking from freeway speeds to make that right hand turn. I can see how this would have caught a biker (anyone) off guard if the truck wasn't paying attention. the speed limit on the feeder road is 50mph there.

but anyway, i hope they find the driver of the truck... RIP

edit: heres where it happened http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=2...04828&t=k&z=18

Doesnít this depend on where the yield sign is located? Iíve seen single yield signs for the exiting traffic and Iíve seen double yield signs for the feeder traffic.

shame....hate to say it, but sometimes it's wise to ride with others....JUST for -HOLES like this!

Houston cagers, could watch everything happen and not give a , just keep on driving. Penalties are not harsh enough...too easy to get away with a hit-n-run now a days.

Prayers to the family and friends that have been touched by this.

From what I understand exiting traffic has the right of way (little roads yield to big roads). Are you sure those signs aren't for the feeder? However, the vehicle exiting the fwy is not supposed to cross the solid line.
