Alpinestar Octane 2-pc suit

I found an Octane 2pc suit that seems to be right in line with my size. the guy bought last year and is selling now to get a smaller size one, he never drug knee or anything. Anyone have experience with this suit in particular? He is willing to do $400 shipped. So whatdya think on the suit and the price?

Mods- I posted this thread in the Gear Talk section but I thought there would be a better chance of someone having the suit and seeing it in this section so please feel free to delete the thread down there

Check out the Kobe Misano 1 piece suit. Think it is the same price and might be a better choice.

Price doesnt seem too bad. I think they are about 650.00 new. Is it for track only? If so, might I suggest a one piece?

As Tiatool mentioned, you can get nice one pieces for that price.

Thanks for the heads up, I hadn't even looked at this brand. Got a place to buy the Misano from?

the Kobe site(http://www.kobeusa.com/suit_misano.html) has me go to this site
http://www.1888fastlap.com/store/cus...me.php?cat=255 . But there is no Misano listed for sale there.

It does have the CarbonStar's listed which look alright but if the Misano is a little cheaper that would be pretty sweet

I have the Misano and I like it. For the price, it is great, IMO. Check with Motorcycles Unlimited. Also, Pete, at Texas Track Bikes is a Kobe distributor of some sort. He is local and you could try it on before you buy. Furthermore, he rents suits, so you may be able to pick up a slightly used one for a little cheaper.

Motorcycles Unlimited gets great deals on Fieldsheers , if I am not mistaken.

Yes it will be for the track. I had planned to get a one piece but had found this pretty decent deal, but if it's worth it for the one piece then I have no problem holding out a little bit longer. Ideally I was shooting to have it before the trackday on the 25th at MSRH. But if I go the new one piece route hopefully they will have a rental that fits me and then I will have my suit for the next one

I would hold out for a one piece suit so you dont have to revisit this issue again for a while. There is so much to buy for the track (its endless) to buy something knowing its not exactly what you want, can beat you down. At that price point, a one piece can be had. I bought mine new for that. Keep your head down and looking, their out there.

I just recently picked up a one piece Octane for 475.00 shipped to me door. I have had zero issues with it. Didn't take much time at all to break in, I bought it a size bigger than the other suits I tried and it fits like a glove. Go with the onezee so you dont regret it in the future!

I have both the Alpinestars Octane and the SG-1 1 piece suits in stock right now for under $500 dollars. i am not allowed by Alpinestars to print my prices but if you call us at 713-946-2400 we can quote you over the phone. I also have the Alpinestars SMX 5 and the SMX PLUS boots on sale also.

I'll keep in touch with you guys at 2 Wheel Toyz to see what sizes you get in by next weekend.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get in touch with Motorcycles Unlimited and or Pete about the Kobe's to see what kinda prices and sizes that they have on the shelf. I have been reading reviews on the Misano and other Kobe's and almost everyone seems to be very pleased with them.
