I crashed at cresson at about 100mph. The bike slid at least 200ft and I was told by a corner worker it bounced 10 to 15 ft in the air.

Actually, there's a good lesson here regarding crashing and getting over it mentally, the same advice I was giving Captain M in a thread last week. I made the mistake and turned in too early. I knew it when it happened, so because because of this, I didn't have any thinking to do about the crash after the crash. I made a mistake, I won't do it again.

Other than a few bruises here and there, I'm fine. Fixed the bike, raced the next day, got back on the podium.
I've only had one crash and that was last week at TWS (Texas World Speedway) with Ride Smart. I lowsided into turn 10 so there wasn't much speed. The only reason I am posting is because of this comment.

Same thing happened with me. I knew what I was doing wrong right before it happened and by the time I could correct anything I lowsided. So I really dont have anything to think about as well. I know what I did wrong and believe me, I know what not to do next time.

I crashed mine coming off the launch at msrh. It really is true what they say about taking it easy on brand new cold tires... it was my first lap on a new set of 002's.

I do. The pix posted here are pretty cool, too. You normally auger yourself into the ground, Gabe, so the slide for distance was a surprise to me.

Ryan Smith in 1999. He crashed in 8A, coming down this hill. Very unfortunate. It took a while, but that wall is gone now. 8A is still a crash waiting to happen, though, and many tried it on for size this past weekend.

I had front row seats to yours Andy and your bike takes the big air award. It was atleast 30 feet in the air. We were rolling through one when next thing i know your sliding and i almost followed you the checked up and saw the bike do a little flip then BOOM holy chit the bike is way up there and all of the plastics are looking like kites. Glad your ok though Andy thats what counts the most.

I heard CMRA is getting rid of the motards since they aren't REAL roadrace bikes.

I quit racing when I dropped Gene T's SV 650 at Barber in some oil. top of 5th. Wife got to sit in the ER with me all day got back for the very end of the race. Troy gave the team enough parts to get the bike going again.

broke 1 rib, scapula, clavicle. first time my wife watched me race up till then she didn't want to go on race weekends. She never told me I couldn't race but...

ps wish I would have gotten some pictures of you that would have been good for another couple of years.

I went off T1 in hallet going CCW when I hit false neutral and couldn't get the bike turned in. I dunno how faet it was, but as I was sliding down the grass, I thought, "oh good, everything is fine and when I stop, I'll get up, picku up the bike and keep going". Then I saw freaking bike flying above me and smaking me in my right hand and breaking 3 bones in it. That sucked. Luckily I didn't hit any solid objects. Then I drove to Houston in stong pain without taking any meds because I wanted to be awake.

This was in 2004, and my only high speed crash. No pictures, but I still have broken parts from that bike hanging in the garage.

Really? Where is the apex, then?

Because I turned in too early (i.e apexed too early), I actually hit the ground somewhere right at the corner's apex.

The apex of the corner is wherever you want the apex to be.

That depends on the bike you are riding. So, the lines are different from bike to bike and rider to rider.

Or, in Linz's case, you F-up, or are a F-up. I'm not sure which in his case.

Ya, I hear you. But I never said anything about the orange cone being the apex of the corner.

I wish you had gotten these, Glen. Trivia: I think the pix you took at OH in 2003 was the last race crash I had. I was due.
