Yeah, it didn't look good. I'm confident he will be able to ride tomorrow. He is a trooper.

Very interesting place on the track to go out. What kind of mechanical failure can cause a highside??

Yeah, I was glad to see some skinny tire pics.

Loris is killing it out there for an old guy. I think this may be his last or next to last season. 2011 is going to be an interesting season. No Rossi, and probably no Caparex or Hayden.

Yea, check out Redding's Blusens Aprilia, 2nd from top, Ohlins forks, Brembo brakes

Loris is the daddy
I hated him when he punted Harada out of the way to win the 250 championship moons ago but he's a hard guy not to love, always laughing and smiling

2011 = DOVI time

Nicky Hayden transferred to hospital
Nicky Hayden has been transferred to hospital for further checks after a disastrous end to his MotoGP qualifying debut for Ducati, at Qatar on Saturday.

Hayden, who had suffered technical problems in both free practice sessions - including an engine failure - prior to qualifying, was launched into the air by a vicious highside at the very end of the 45-minute session, whilst trying to improve on 16th position.

The 2006 world champion, due to make his 100th MotoGP start on Sunday, suffered severe pain in his back and, after undergoing some initial x-rays at the circuit medical centre, has been taken to a local hospital for further checks.

Hayden also required three stitches for a cut to his chest and is described as 'doubtful' for the race.

"I don't feel like going for a jog right now, I can tell you that much!" joked Nicky. "It was a big crash and I'm in a lot of pain so we're going to get some more x-rays done and see what the score is."

Hayden's Ducati Marlboro team-mate Casey Stoner took pole position.

"The whole team are keeping our fingers crossed for Nicky. Hopefully he can ride tomorrow but the most important thing is that he's okay," said Stoner.

A decision on Hayden's participation in the season-opening Losail night race will be made on Sunday.
fingers crossed it's not too bad

thanks for the link.

looks like Hayden's high side was on exit from privious turn. maybe a tration control learning cure. the Duc's tration control may not tolerate all that rear slidin he's been acustom too.

pleasure glad it got used

you read so much about how sophisticated the electronics are with traction control, anti-wheelie, GPS corner entry and exit monitoring systems, lean angle mapping blah blah blah that when I see a highside like that I think of mechanical/electronics failure and not rider error!!
might be wrong
