The design of the decal honoring Coach Dave has changed just a bit. Please check it out and mark down the amount you want, if any. If it looks like by noon we need more then the original 100 ordered I may still be able to get more. Either way if we need more we will find a way to get them to everyone. Thank you MH for all your support for Coach Dave and his family!

Although every ten bikes or so, multiple sweepers and riders up front to stop traffic for the group we are striving for that; however if it gets divided we wont feel the need to be impatient and 'catchup.' I agree on with you there; I'd love to see the riders work together and make it a memorial ride we can share together, especially on 3090. There are only three stop sign turns from the gas station to Yankees... So its very possible.

The only stop that has the most concern is from 3090 to 244(on to Yankees.) But by that time we finished w Dave's corner, the road etc. then we're on to lunch etc.

This will be an incredible ride to honor the man that offered 'I ride we wont soon forget.'

Having Road Guards (Leaders/Sweepers/Volunteers) every 10 bikes or so will help achieve that goal. Patriot Guard missions can be up to 150 bikers in one group, but of course we have LEO Escorts/Road Guards helping us along the way (yet we can still get divided due to impatient cagers). So I realize this is a huge undertaking, Matt. We all need to be on the same page, for logistical as well as safety reasons.

Having us every 10 bikes, helping to block off traffic and keep the group together will help achieve that objective.

People that are planning to come to Yankees in their cars:
The folks at Yankees have requested that it would be better for the cars not to be park in the main Yankees parking lot. Instead, the cars should take the first right after Yankees main entrance and park on the dirt field adjacent to Yankees.

People with Cars

This is the Official CoachDave "Remember the Bonnets" Memorial Ride April 26th, 2009

Please read over the following information carefully.

What: A memorial ride to honor the great Forest Gnome CoachDave (Patterson)

When: 10am KSU(kickstands up). Mandatory Rider Meeting at 930am

Where: PP69(242/i45 McD's and Shell NE corner) End at Yankees.

Gear: Helmet, gloves, jacket required. Boots, p.jeans, knee pads or suits recommended; we never diss safety.

Prereq's: Come gassed up. Make sure your bike is in good working order. This is a memorial ride. We will have alot of bikers and cars. If there are problems you wont be left, someone will be assigned to you but the group will continue on. If you are a new rider and wish to participate contact us via pm ahead of time.

The Patterson Family wishes to join us on the memorial ride in celebrating the love CoachDave had for motorcycling. There will be many cars riding along with the motorcycles. Due to the nature of this ride there are strict rules to follow and must be obeyed for the safety of all involved.

The volunteer Forest Gnomes will be wearing track vests to be identified. They will be policing the ride every set amount of riders incase the group divides due to traffic/lights. Designated Leader/Sweeper appointed.

Rules of the Memorial Ride:

1. Speed limit is recommended. You are riding your own bike and responsible for it.

2. Road King rules will be followed w staggered formation in the city/straights and single file in the country roads. Full hand signals.

3. No show boating, wheelies, stoppies(I dont need to go on.)

4. No stopping unless emergency.

5. We will not be passing vehicles on the road. The idea is to keep the group together, not break it apart nor create a 'catchup' scenerio. Likely the group will be broken apart during the ride up to 3090 do to lights. I understand many do not like large group rides; this ride is to honor the work Coach has offered to us.

The Ride/Route:

We will be taking the normal ride we are accustomed.

First stop after 242 will be the stop sign on 2854 before 149 for the Blue Bonnet pictures w the bikes/family. Cars can park on the adjacent side of the road or after the stop sign.

In Richards we will turn off 149 to take side roads w Forest Gnomes stationed at each turn to keep the group moving together.

Second stop at 1774/149/90 Shell station. Park tight and do not block local traffic at the pumps/parkinglot. There will be a brief 3090 meeting.

On 3090 we will slow to a crawl but will not be able to stop at Coach's corner. Because of this, the ride will end at Yankees so smaller groups can go back for pictures or to pay their respects if they choose. We will not leave anyone behind at Yankees. There are several ways to go back to i45 and highway6 from the Yankees location.

People that are planning to come to Yankees in their cars:
The folks at Yankees have requested that it would be better for the cars not to be park in the main Yankees parking lot. Instead, the cars should take the first right after Yankees main entrance and park on the dirt field adjacent to Yankees.

Documentation:
Finally, I will not be doing pics/video that day. Pictures are more then welcomed to share memories. If camera riders wish to go ahead of the group to take video or pictures, let us know ahead of time and where you plan to be. Know the route/roads if you plan to 'Float' so you are not left behind. And thank you for your work.

Forest Gnomes will be wearing track vests courtesy of vmaxgirl and LSTD.
