Talking !

i was one of the few to recive the 06 r6 back in jan, but and i gotta say that i love my bike even though it wont redline at 17.5k... i really got to feel the slipper clutch out on sunday at our s.w ride and gotta tell u all it really impressed me. I have known about the letter for about a week or so but i finally got mine today. I dont know whether to keep my bike or give it back and wait till 07, but nevertheless i got to ride it like its supposed to be riddenand IMO its the best "stock" production bike i have ever ridden. I called and spoke to a costomer relations person at Yamaha and asked what was in store for 07(RPM wise) and he didnt beat around the bush and stright up said i dont know, but what he did say is that THE UNITS THAT ARE BEING BOUGHT BACK ARE NOT GOING TO BE RESOLD!!! hard choice but i have untill mid march!!! :eh:

In closing this is HANDS down the most technically advanced and powerful 600cc bike produced. Bigtime props to Yamaha for developing this bike, for owning up to the bike's rev issues and giving owners a choice. One thing is for sure I'm keeping mine! There's nothing out there short of a superbike that will come close to this bikes performance (take a look at Jason Disalvo's laptimes and we think there's a few SUPERBIKE racers wishing they are on 600 R6's too :lol)!

i think i'm going with the honda's in '07. I haven't heard much about them, but what I gathered from reading some columns here and there on magazines... I've seen that Honda is coming out with a new line. Or... I may just stick with the 04 until it totally craps out on me or I total it lol.

the new 1000RR's are supposed to weigh 17lbs less than the 06's and have more power

I can't decide what to do. I really, really love my new R6! But I'm also concerned for future resale value. I paid alot for my new bike, but I don't want it to damage the resale value it has being for the RPM issue. This bike is a totally awesome. I wish the RPM issue had never surfaced. But then again, if I can get out of it now, I think it's best I can otherwise I'll eat it later.
I'm looking to go for the 06' R1 Raven. I think it's a better street bike. It's looks and performance are second to none. Either, or, I am happy with both bikes. Whether it's the R6 or the R1. Unfortunately for me, the tach issue is a major downer. I'm thinking in terms of credability and value. Anyone can hit me up with this reasoning.
