I don't know for sure, but I doubt it. I do know that Wal-Mart has a thingy to check if it is, though.

I don't think it does. A friend of mine had the same bike and when I rode it I did not notice the thing that's usually embebed on it.

$4? Isn't that expensive? I thought keys only cost like a dollar or something, maybe bike keys are more though

$4 a piece, lol

the key still has to be cut so even if did have any kind of security feature the head (thick plastic piece) of the key has to be programmed because of the chip inside.

im pretty sure he didnt have your key size or didnt want to do it.

I guess I am naive but I thought I could only go to Yamaha to get a new key. Thats why they give you a key code when you buy your bike. Can't you just go to honda and give them the VIN# and show that you are the owner of the bike?

i bought the key for my old 2001 zx6r from a hardware store. i wanted my spare keys to say kawasaki so i ordered them from kawi.

they give you the key code when you buy it new in case you loose all of the keys. this way they know how to cut the key.

I had keys made for my CBR at this place. It was like $6 for two keys. They were just plain metal keys, but they're just spares anyway.

at least you're getting it done now before you loose the key. that would cost a lot
