I don't for the life of me understand y ya'll insist on leaving bikes unattended & unsecure (a chain is FAR FROM a security measure) and think some a$$hat won't pick the thing up eventually.

I know there SHOULDN'T be thieves to steal ur shyt & u SHOULD be able to park it where u want with no recourse, but the reality is THERE ARE THIEVES OUT HERE, and for u all to fail to protect urselves and ur property PROPERLY is beyond me.

Insurance rates are going to continue to GO UP (and they have this year thru SF) in this area due to these types of incidents.

PREVENTION IS EVERYTHING PEOPLE, u enjoy ur shyt and those of us who are insured enjoy low rates, everyone wins!

GL.

I fell soo guilty ****ing up like I did. But life goes on and so I will buy another bike after I buy a house later this year. I ****ing hate apartments and unless we live in a socialist society where everyone has the same , apartment robberies will happen.

Maybe someone above was looking out for me and saw it best to rid me of a bike for the time being.

I put basic coverage on it Monday while I was at work. the insurance hasn't even gone through the system yet. I didn't have a chance to add theft as I thought I would do that a bit later. Lo jack would have been gravy but I couldn't have had it installed as I just bought it Saturday.

What the happens to stolen bikes anyway? Are they stripped, put on a titled frame, ridden...?

Thanks for all the support guys, I was really looking forward to TTD at MSR

OUCH. No theft coverage!>?!?!?

I have it on my 2007 ninja 500 worth scrap metal by now. People, get theft coverage. pennies for big savings in a place like houston.

From the pics it looks the bike had the security cables instead of a heavy duty chain. Those are supposed to be easy to cut through even though. While a heavy duty chain (https://www.kryptonitelock.com/produ...=1002&pid=1169) is more difficult to defeat it doesn't mean it can't be defeated. If someone really wants it they'll find a way to take it. Hopefully they get discouraged enough to leave it alone.

Hope you get your bike back Jobe.
