(title of thread) target fixation looks to be the culprit

the pic looks like the R1 was coming in too hot and decided not to attempt the turn.

it looks like the R1 comes in too hot and his head wasn't in turning or looking ahead and ran straight to the novice. That's my take.

yeah thats the way it appears and not looking through the turn. I've been guilty of running into a turn to hot on a few occassions. Never has standing the bike up even been an option. I put my head on a swivel and I just think to myself, "lean, lean some more, ohhhhh lean some more...that was close!" lol.

it looks like the R1 is behindi the guy in the checkered leathers in the first pic. maybe he washed out his front end and then the R1 got distracted and wanted to look at the rider tumbling down the track...

That is the correct procedure, better to lean so far you lowside, than to hit someone or run off track/road at speed. At least if you lowside you will slow down faster than if you were still upright but in the grass.

very true Danny, the org. isn't the one to blame, it's the rider. and yes target fixation is a , it happened to me on sunday, i fixated on a guy who left the track, then i broke free from my fixation to look up the track to see what he left the track for, he was avoiding some debris in the track just ahead of us.

I don't see how HOP's "hating" on the org... more like playin fun with a skillset and the name of the org.

Maybe he is... Tony :hater:
