And hopefully the law will handle that BEFORE something unfortunate happens. Too bad it rarely works that way. I have no faith in the government fixing the problem if that is what you are getting at.

I agree though. Most the time these people end up killing themselves and/or others before the law catches up to them.

I rode the route with friends for the frist time last Sunday, it is a fun road, but it should be ridden with caution & taken seriously.
When you are on a bike , there is little room for error.
I sure coach Dave would like everyone to continue to ride 3090 ,but to be safe as we do.
RIP .

Same circumstances some of the same characters.

Riding motorcycles is DANGEROUS. On the track, on the freeway, on a backroad, on a 50, ANYWHERE.

If you don't have some expectation people getting hurt or worse, this sport is NOT FOR YOU. Quit about the end result, quit trying to quantify the dangers of backroad vs freeway vs track. IT IS ALL THE SAME DANGER.

Speed + Concrete + Sudden Impact = Bad Things.

Agree also, however I will argue that crashing at X mph in a turn on 3090/others and crashing at that same speed on the track will have different outcomes.

That is correct due to different runoff conditions.
However, some tracks have dangerous runoff conditions also.

And you propose what? Maybe each time you are caught by a police officer riding 20mph or more over the limit they should cut off a finger. Eventually you will learn to stop speeding or either you'll have no fingers to ride with.

You know its bad when someone mentions that certain guys out there are like "corner workers" and certain people have in their sigs a road and how many times they did it like its a track day then you know you might be taking a public road a little too seriously.

Like I said, 95% of sport bike riders treat 3090 like a track.

And I want to clarify that I did not start this thread to accuse anyone or assume Dave was doing anything wrong. I know Dave, his riding skills, and have sat and had several lunches with good conversation with him. What I want to say is if you want to act like a racer then race at the track, not on a public roadway becuase 3090 will eventually win.

Look at it like this...all the people killed, all the friends we have all lost...do you think if they knew they were going to die that die, do you think they would have been going at the pace they were going or slower? if you're going that pace, maybe you should reconsider, before its too late. it doesn't matter what percentage of your pace you're going, twice the posted speed for a corner (or faster) is too fast for the street. especially on 3090 on a sunday morning when you got sightseers looking for bluebonnets and people getting out/going to church. sunday mornings are the most traffic'd day out there. countless old people driving 30mph, tractors at 5mph, etc. way too many variables to be out there trying to improve your riding skills. improve your skills at the track, use them on the street in an emergency. if you got a speed addiction, you should reconsider your beliefs before you get yourself, or anyone else killed.

we're all responsible for the deaths around us one way or another. ya'll can deny that all you want, or you can think about that, and what you can do to TRULY save a life. and it's not teaching them how to safely ride at the pace they're riding, because IT'S NOT A SAFE PACE. i don't know how many more people are going to die before you all get that through your heads.
