No problem man - Don't buy a smaller bike than have to worry about selling it, and getting another bike. You can easily grow into the R6, just remember that your wrist and lack of skill can kill you, always respect the bike, and cars, suv's, trucks will run over you, kill you, and won't even look in their rear view mirrors to see if your ok, then will sit down and eat with their families like that haven't just killed somebody. Beware of stupid drivers, people on cell phones, and old people. Take care bro - looking foward to riding w/u soon.

lol, current day 600s have more power then your hurricane an weigh 100-150lbs less, sounds like a true beginner bike.

"lack of skill" how do you develop skill, by being over your head or building your skill level, step by step?

i wonder if we shuld have kept a count on how many times this was going to be a new thread... dont we have stickies for this???????????????

for someone to consider an r6 or let alone a liter bike who is new to this is riduculous.. at least in my opinion.... we dont need more dead riders!

the biggest I would go is a gs500

Instead of getting an R6 for a first bike, how 'bout a game of Russian Roulette?

Seriously, take the MSF. Ride a 250, then tell us if that is enough bike. Don't worry about if "other people will think I'm cool". That should not be a factor in getting your first bike. Worry about poser points later The good thing about the Ninja 250 is that you normally won't lose your when it is time to sell it, and a lot of people seek that bike as their first one. It's a lot easier to say, "I've outgrown this 250 now it's time for a 600" than to say ", this 600 scared the f*ck out of me. Better trade down to a 250"............

Well dotty i feel the same way but not everybody reads everything then ask's questions....

I will be honest with you bro...I started on a gsxr 750 no msf and bought it brand new....

all horible mistakes..although i had alot alot alot of exp.. racing dirtbikes and shifter karts and all sorts of racing and been around motorcycles all my life..It was still a huge mistake....

I am speaking from exp.. i laid my bike down with in 1 month luckly i was smart enough to where gear and walked away actually road my bike away...But now i have a messed up 2005 bike that i owe way way way more then i could ever get for it....

listen to these people take the msf before you ever even go looking for a bike man take it where you choose racerx is a great teacher im sure and so is challen but this is a must. You wouldnt believe how many times we have heard about people that went out bought these great new 600's and couldnt even get out of there neiberhood....Bikes are great things but you need to be a very resopncible on it....Take the msf class learn some things get to know some people and then choose your bike wisley....When we go out to meets we actually condgradulate people that have made smart decitions on there first bike....I 250 or 500 is plenty of bike when your 1rst getting started and you will be able to see what it feels like to be out riding and see if this is something you like if it is and you have a few thousand miles on her sell it make your money back then go buy a bigger bike if you choose but buy it used ride it for a year or too then if you choose sell it and buy a new bike if your like....

I hope that all made since if not im sorry i was just typeing things as they came too me lol....

If you dont listen to anything i said at least listen to this take the msf and buy your 1rst bike used...whatever it is buy it used... You will drop it i gareentee that and you may wreck i would hate to see it but its always a good posibiltiy..

So buy it used and take msf...
