man its really sad to hear about dave. i only met him once, on a noob forest ride, and he was a really nice and helpful guy. he went on a lot of the forest rides, didnt he? i have seen him in a lot of the ride pictures and he just generally gave the impression of someone with a big heart, you know?
he was a nice guy, it's really sad what happened. yesterday seemed pretty windy, i didnt think it would have been that bad.

i get a little burned up thinking about how the good people that are pretty much universally liked like dave are taken doing something they love and complete turds can go unscathed and live to tell about the really stupid stuff they do.

Ben,
While nobody can presume to know how you feel right now, I will say that you can take this time to feel very proud of your father - he made people smile wherever he went. I lost my dad recently and unexpectedly. He was my very best friend. I understand exactly what you mean when you say you want him back. Huddle close to your family. This will take time to set in. Let us know if you need anything. There are so many on here who would be honored if we could help in even the smallest way. I wish for you and your family that you may find peace in the memory of such a beloved man. May bless you and your family!

Ben - we were so lucky you and your family shared your dad with ALL of us! From get go he makes each person feel welcomed and always has a smile on his face and making us have one too! Yesterday was so beautiful, he showed us the prettiest bluebonnets and we shared jokes and many laughs! Although I am deeply sadden he is gone so soon he was very happy and seemed so excited to show us each step of our ride. I really thought in the beginning he was going to pull through it and know one thing...we all tried our hardest out there to help he stay with your family and all of us. I am so sorry we couldnt of done more. That wind was something else but it felt nice standing there in the bluebonnets anyways! I look forward to meeting you and I am still getting more pics sent to me for your famlies memories! My thoughts and prayer are with yall! Stay strong, I know its hard!

I only met Coach at HAK once, but I chatted with him and he was a VERY cool guy. Rest In Piece Dave. I will definitely be on this memorial ride.

You and your family were so fortunate to have a man like your dad in your lives. He's one of a kind- that's for sure. I'm so sorry for your loss.

To those that never had the honor to meet coach, I can only put it one way:

If you met him once, he was a friend.

Those are rare people. He was such an easy going, laid back guy. I could never imagine him being shy. He almost talked my ear off the first time I met him.

Again....he will be missed!!!!

Ben, so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Coach as well as some others, but I counted him among my friends. Stay strong and know he loved you and what he was doing when he left this world.

And Ben, please try to get the family out tomorrow night to the 529/Hwy 6 Starbucks and say hi to Daves friends. I know it's tough but family and friends is how you get thru these times.
