R.I.P. Coach Dave - A more worthy person would be hard to find!

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the gentle winds that blow,
I am the perfect corner bow.
I am sunlight on dappled trees,
I am the puck beneath your knees.
When you ride in forest's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of bikes and gears all taking flight.
It's okay, it will be alright...
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die...

- Mary Frye (Sappily Edited by Toni S.)

Very Nice!

This is one of the saddest experiances.
I met Coach Dave on a few rides.
He told me he went by Coach Dave because he Coached a little league team.
He clearly had many admireable qualities.
I was looking forward to learning from him.
This world needs more people like him not less.
I am not sure of the details but perhaps there is a lesson to be learned here.
Seems somethings happen that really are not supposed too.
If this can happen to him it could happen to anyone.

Bless you Coach Dave.

I cannot believe that Coach Dave is gone. He was one of the most outgoing and friendly guys I have met on MH rides. I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. There is no replacement for the loss of a guy as good as he is.
His time came, and its better that it happened on a beautiful say on a beautiful road than if it had occurred in the traffic of Houston.

it was the MOST beautifal day. and amen to a beautifal country side. coach saw it all. he would say "come on, lets just go". after a conversation today at lunch i thaught a lot about our responsibilities as gnomes. coach took charge and was a leader. and amen to rocks in the face shield and windscreen from the back of his bike.

Coach Dave

I rode with Coach Dave twice through the Forest, I just had began to know him but could tell right away he was a good soul.
I was catching up on the threads at lunch today to see the pics and hear about what a good time I missed and could not belive what i was reading.
I will pray for Coach Dave and his family.

Dave was just a friendly, thoughtful person. He was one of the first people I met at the HAK m&g. Just a very down to earth, good natured guy. Made me feel really welcome and part of the group. He was just one of those rare people that u instantly felt like you'd known forever. The world has definitely diminished a little by his loss.

This is Coachdave's son. I just wanted to thank you all for the overwhelming love and support you have shown my father and to us. It means more than you will ever know. He loved it, he loved being out there with y'all and looked forward to every weekend. I want to say so many things right now but I can't form the words. I've met some of y'all and from what I saw you all are amazing individuals. He's made many great friends through MH. Thank you for those that stayed with him on the roadside, I wish with all my heart that I could have been there with him. Thank you for all your prayers. Please take every precaution and enjoy this passion, it is what my father would have wanted for y'all.

We been thinking about your dad & your family all the way through this time. Look forward to meeting you just wish it was under better terms. I will keep all of you in my thoughts!

I would love to hear all of the times and laughs you have shared with my dad. He looks so happy in the pictures. I miss him so much, I want him back, I want him back so bad!! I've lost my very best friend in the whole world. He was like no other, always knew and did what was best for me and my sister. I couldn't have asked for anything more out of a father.
