If you buy an aluminum rear sprocket definitely make sure it is hard anodized.
Some of the best on the market: AFAM and Renthal.

lol I have a Steel that I bought from you......

Hey my transmission maybe toast but the sprockets and Chain are new

After all I work with Aluminum daily.... Just not for my Sprockets. Thats one route I will never go... But what I was reading I thought for sure it was a Steel Sprocket with a hardening coating.

looks cool against a white backround, but I don't think black would be noticeable against most black wheels. I like the titanium color of the AFAM's myself.

Thats the point.... Who drives around with a Chrome driveshaft on their car ? After a few thousand miles of chain wax and road grit It will still be black

yes

There is a hard anodizing and color anodizing process. hard is what you would want in a piece such as a sprocket.....

As for Color well as you may already know I can do that. T6000 series and up through 7000 color anodizes beautifully, but the cast and cheaper injected aluminums color like . Same holds true for Hard anodizing.

Where would I go about doing this? Lobo can you point me in the right direction? Also can I anodize my stainless steel midpipe?

you really wanna put some kinda "heat" coating on exhaust systems like jet-hot or similar product.

Anodizing process is for Aluminum... Stainless is Polishable, not sure about coating Stainless though, If its possible I would do Ceramic coating, but really no reason to do anything to the midpipe.. whats up with yours ? discolored or blueing ? If so those conditions are both polishable. As for your sprocket ? I can color anodize it np 7-10 day turn around now and can anodize in any of these colors

Cool.. I'll definitely get with you on that. Can you PM any prices? I did polish the midpipe but it turns gold within a month of riding and I keep it garaged. Oh well. I just hate that look... if it did turn blue that would be hella cool with me. :icon_bigg
