How long should a new battery be left on a 2 amp charger?

put acid in let sit for 45 min, put in on charger over night

or just use a battery tender.

if its sealed most of them you dont have to charge if it is ready over 12 volts
if its under throw it on the trickle charger.

That was the plan, but I'm replacing a battery in a friend's bike and wanted to give him a heads up of when I think it will be all done. Instructions say 1-3 hours at 1.5 amps so should be a little less than that for 2 amps. Thanks guys.

+100000

Thats exactly how you do it....ALL batteries need to be charged initially, whether they show 12v or not. Once you put that first load on them, thats the highest level of charge they will ever be able to hold so you need to trickle charge them when new before you ever put a load on em.
