Well I already have my Alpine star boots. They aren't all racing looking or anything. Just the standard riding boot that goes up to the shin.

i got sidi boots and gloves that cover wrist... Id rather be safe than sorry.. and it isnt like they are uncomfortable. Just like stated above...

"it's a good idea like helmets are a good idea.. not for the 900 times you don't use them, but for the 1 time that you do."

I highly recommend boots, specifically motorcycle boots. Typicall they are braced to prevent ankle over-extension or lateral movement.
Ankle fractures are one of the most common motorcycle accident injuries, typically requiring screws / plates.

I always wear my Sidi boots whenever I go anywhere. I had one incident that left me with a limp for about 2 months, so I starting wearing the Sidi's full time.

Plus, it's a whole lot easier for me to shift with motorcycle boots, and the toes are thinner so I can get underneath the levers more easily than other types of boots.

I've got a full assortment to size you with and the Sidis are surprisingly very comfortable.

The Setup is a decent street boot for $116.95 MH price, the next level would be the Vertigo @ $247.50 MH price.
Note: I incorrectly posted the old Vertebra price, it's been corrected for the correct Vertigo price, sorry for my confusion.
