New improved track near galveston..

Stumbled across this on another forum. Never heard of it, but apparently they are renovating it and it will soon be a 2.8 mile road course.

a couple of us were supposed to go over there a few years back. we decided against it since there wasnt going to be a ambulance and costs were too high per person.

Ohh really,
Yeah, don't think I'd want to ride without EMS on hand either.
Looks like it will be a good track once its complete. Maybe some of the riding schools will rent it out in the future where it would be affordable.

yeah, it seems to be the same price to rent the track on the weekdays like TWS (Texas World Speedway).

the price jumped up a lot, but when we were looking into it the surface was bumpy in spots.

Spent some time down there years back, too tight for anything really fast, i.e a 600.
It'll be interesting to see what they make of the place.

Whoa... haven't heard about that place in a while. We went there years ago as well. Folks used to call it 'Hitchcock'. Like Patrick said, the original track was great for minis and the like, but not much fun on the bigger bikes. This idea has been around for years. Hopefully something will come of it because they definitely have the space.

News I just got from Management is that 1.8 portion will be completed Sept. 1, 2006 and the 2.8 portion done Feb. 2007. Save your money people cause Houston just got bigger!!!!!!:notworthy No Official word about them having there on Track School for bikes but you can never hold your breath.

I've been there before, it was definitely too small for litre bikes and from what I rememer 600s didn't even get out of 3rd... it's way out in the boodocks. I think it used to be a blimp station or something.

Yah, blah-blah-blah with the past....Those were the days we don't really need to know about. Go out there in November or just wait until the photo's are taken and posted. It's not going to be anything like your remembered.
This is something new for everyone to enjoy so think positive.
