I have a few of them. getting divorced and watching the kid you raised call someone else daddy really hurts.
making an ems call for a suicide only to find out it's your friend youve known since birth.
watching a little girl die from being crushed by a minivan cause " mom " didnt see the need for using a seatbelt, and the 18 y/o kid that was late for work and decided to run a red light.
and last would have to be telling my parents i collapsed at a structure fire and dont remember anything but waking up in an ambulance.

oh yeah, and cant forget being a squid and wrecking my bike at 80 mph around a blind turn.

Although I've lost more than a few friends in the 44 years I've been around, whether it was from suicide, someone elses bullet or from bikes, these 3 would be the worst:

Coming home from work to find my mom had passed way. (I'm the one that found her)
Watching my father having a heart attack and die in front of me in the hallway of our house.
Coming home from a week offshore to find out my wife of 4 years had emptied the house, the bank account, had maxed all of the cards and had left.

Now matter how bad it gets you can climb out of the hole and get back on top.

... i pulled a guy off of a burning motorcycle after he slammed into a almost none moving truck that didnt see him coming cuz he was in a full wheelie on spencer highway... when we pulled him out from under the truck he was in flames... i was freaked out.. watching the ems trying to bring him back to life was heart wrenching.. seeing him take a deep breath and then flat line again... and again... when they finally got him stable enough for life flight they loaded him in and he flat lined again for the last time.. terrible terrible day RIP

death can be a traumatizing/life changing experience, epsecially when it's you that dies and is brought back. Since that day, i have looked at life a little differently, and i have more appreciation for the short time that we have here, no matter how hard it can be.

watching my mom dying of cancer was very painful, both my parents are gone now. My father killed himself when I was 15. I'm glad to be in a loving relationship right now, it helps me not think of the bad things that have happened in my life.

my story is pretty much the same as ev1 else just a different sequence: heard my mom yelling in the hallway, ran out and saw my dad on the floor coughing up blood. spent the next two weeks living in the hospital. they sedated him after a couple days and he stayed in a sleep like state with a breathing machine. doctors decide that he won't make it and to shut down the instruments. next day at 12:00 pm, a nurse walked in calmly and turned off all the machines while i stood there. next thing i knew the man i admired was dieing in front of me. I told him goodnight the night before he was sedated, but little did i know that i should of have said goodbye.
