Is Yoshimura a good brand. I am looking for just some good starter gear w/o paying a lot of money. I just something I can put on and hit the parking lot and learn in.

Hmmm. Wonder if that is sorta like how Yamaha has gear. It has Yamaha logos all over it and is marketed as a Yamaha jacket but is really made by Joe Rocket.

Maybe someone else is making the gear and slapping Yoshi patches on them.

I would contact the seller and ask them who actually manufacturers the Yoshimura gear.

I think its best to invest in good gear, that way you only have to but it once.....unless you thrash it. Even then, if it saves your skin, its money well spent. good luck and be safe.
I dont know about their gear, I do however like their exhaust products!

Okay so what is some good quality gear that wont break my budget? I have looked at A*, Joe Rocket, Fox. Are there any more? Would it be better to buy from a local store or from an online site? If a site what are some good ones?

Its best to shop around until you fnd a good deal. I went with an A* jacket for the street, I got a good deal on a leather jacket, little heavier than most but I got used to it. I'm sure people will chime in on their exp. I would go with leather, preforated is better for Houston.
Sometimes online shopping can get you good deals, no shippping, no tax. Knee pads will be a good investment for you as well.

those look like Cortech/TourMaster of which I like to think of as pretty good for the price (have a mesh jacket from them).

The gear you linked to on the site it's pretty expensive though (Yoshi premium?) - you probably would be better off with equivalent A*, Fieldsheer, FT, or Vance (closeouts) leathers for the same price.

I have been looking at a lot of sites to figure out what size jacket i should get. I am not sure what size i need but my measurements are 36in from the center base of my neck to my wrist. and around my chest is 54in. according to this site i need a 54L http://www.huffmansbigandtall.com/howtosize.html Some of the sites i have seen for a riders jacket say you need to add 4 inches to your jacket size. so I was to order i 54 then i would need a 58? Is this true?

Go to Motorcycles Unlimited and get fitted. They can match most online prices and guarantee that your leathers will fit perfectly!!! Can your online dealers beat that?

I would love to but i live in MS. I found one store close by but they only sell bikes and helmets they had no gear but the guy said he could order it but i did not want to do that and it not fit. I am still looking for a clothing store but so far no luck. Well i cannot say that i found one but it is about 2 hours from where i live and i have been busy and have not had a chance to get away. But i will keep up the search.
