This is a very debatable topic. Good choice Henry.

Can't wait to get my skills up to that level. How long have some you riders rode before you can ride like that?

I would say that at least 95% of the people on this board can not "back it in" on their bikes. I'm sure there are exceptions, and to you guys i have major respect, but that's not common in street riding on sportbikes. hop on a motard, and it's a little easier, but still requires a LOT of bike control.

It's a good manuever to use in passing, or to discourage someone from passing you. It takes quite a bit of brake / throttle control, and it's hard on tires.
Sometimes using it as your riding style can actually limit you:
Kurtis Roberts was infamous for backing it in during his 600 Supersport and Formula Extreme days. Entertaining to watch and he won a ton a races and a few championships to boot. However when he moved to Superbikes, the technique became a liability, as he couldn't make his rear tires last, costing him several wins.

Backing it in is something you have in your advanced bag of tricks as a racer, something to use when neccessary, not something to use all of the time IMO.
