Any racers not racing this year?

Just wondering if anyone of you had a transponder that you are not using that you would like to sell. Seems like I keep getting beat to the punch so I thought I would put it out there.

Thanks,
dean

You're gonna get an AMB transponder only for us to change to RFID in 2010. Okay, I'm kidding...probably.

see racer997's response. Did not want to spend 400 bux for one season. I'd take my chances on a used one for one season/

Hoolie I dont have itlike you do. LOL

If it is only for one season, why don't you get one from Pete at Texas Track Bikes? It is pretty basic but only costs 99 USD.

I got mine used and its been fine. They can stay charged longer than we are at the track. So even if you has one that wasnt holding complete charge it could still get you through the weekend.

Not very often, but it does happen. You must keep them charged to make them happy. I didn't over the winter and mine died. It's still sitting there in the garage at home waiting for me to call AMB, so maybe I'll do this now that I have been reminded by this thread.

I didn't mean to start a panic - my response was mostly an attempt at humor.

The CMRA currently uses AMB's propieitary system and probably will for some time. I simply had a conversation a couple days ago with a friend of mine who wrote the code for the T&S system we use and asked him how long it would be before we changed to RFID, in his opinion, of course. He didn't know and couldn't say, but thought, like I do, that sooner or later AMB would have to prove thier system was better or move to RFID themselves to remain viable in the market since that seems to be where things seem to be headed.

And Dean, where were you when Jody was selling a first gen transponder here last week for $200?

They sell the AMB transponders and charging system for $99? Man, that's a killer deal if they do.

It is used to cast spells on fellow racers to enable you to win correct?

Got mine used on the WERA board, works great, 200 bones!

PS: Dont forget to move it from bike to bike between races. I got a DNF at ECR in the Formula 1 race cause I forgot..

I dunno, but I'm gonna start velcro'ing mine to the undertail on Tony's bike.

2nd place finishes here I come

Dean, you can get a direct-wire transponder for a good bit less than the rechargeable ones, they hardwire onto your bike so you don't ever have to worry about recharging them. I've seen a few people running them lately, I woulda got one had I not scored a smokin' deal on my transponder! I know amazon.com has them, might do a google search for them to find a few other places.
