Cheap R1 Mods:If you havent done it do it

I ordered 2 things from a custom machinist on r1-forum.com.. His name is Josh Roth and he is doing some custom plates, stacks and such for 04-06 r1's and is in the process of doing stuff for newer r1's. I bought a set of his velocity stacks (modeled after graves) and his smog block off plates. All are cnc machined and look great. I got both of them for 170 bucks shipped and it came in two days from south carolina. This after doing some reasearch are cheap mods that can give you a few more ponies and make your bike run a little smoother. Just thought I would share and when I do this mod sometime this week. Ill do a how to. I predict it to take about 45-1 hour because the smog blocks offs take some time to get down to.

Here are the pictures fresh out of the box.

or you could spend that $170 on a trackday and learn to ride the bike better, cuz it's got way more then "you" have to offer.

Who ripped off Graves. I'm all for helping the little guy, but not if they're stealing R&D hours from the big guy.

Cheap mods? $170? "to run a little smoother"? I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

The stacks may increase the mid but not top end.

Longer runners for shorter rpm torque; shorter runners for higher rpm torque.

Coming from the car world... no. Then again, I know 3-5hp is a lot higher percentage of the total HP on a bike than it is on a car.
