Out of all the thefts, I wonder how many were bikes that were not locked up in a garage or in a house/apt? I keep hearing "bike stolen from my apts."

IMO, if I lived in an apt, I'd either A) pay extra for a garage B) live on the ground floor and park the bike inside or C) sell the bike until I got a house.

Apts and bikes usually equals stolen. It's not "if", but "when."

Well, I agree that leaving a bike out at an apt is asking for trouble. BUT, there are apt with bikes out all over houston. They just seem to get jacked more often in Spring.

never trust anyone you don't know (especially if you just met them at a M&G). MC boards are a great way for thieves to find victims.

it's the truth. your best friend sometimes. the reason i picked cali to ride with when i came around was because my tummy told me i could trust him. and he knew how to ride real good, lol. my dads harley was stolen when i was a kid. it was parked in front of his bedroom window right by his bed. gone the next morning. that was a long time ago. nothins changed. not to change this to a race thread, but the comment about minorities, dont forget about the meth head white folks out there. there are people of every color that live respectable lives and those who live lives of crime. i bet these guys are white or latin.

Honestly, if they want to find it, they will.

As of January open records can be found on the internet for 10 dollars. All you need is a license plate. So, unless you simply keep yours off, somone can go around take pictures or write down numbers at a meet and greet, do some research and choose their victims as they see fit.

Fact remains, this is just a small side of the things to come. Fraud will be on the rise significantly soon(already getting aggressive.) Its sad, unfair but what is one to do?

Just to verify the situation,

our fortune 500 company was hacked 2 yrs ago and everyone's social was possibly at risk. My number came up 5 times. I've had attempted hits on my credit and weird phone calls lately(scams) I've been reporting the phone numbers online by doing google searches whenever I get them.

its really sad what its come down to. I lost a lot of respect for the general population.

yeah it sux when your bike gets stolen but happens and you have to suck it up and deal with it. It has happen to me and my friends before but there is one answer to it all and that is lojack and im thinking of getting this feature put on or considering a cyclealarm something to lighten the threat of getting my bike stolen

So that's why the Po Po is always runnin' my plate lately

It seems that everytime I pass a Precinct 4 constable or Harris County Sheriff's deputy he/she wants to get 6 inches away from my back wheel, tail me for a bit, then drive off. This has been happening more often than not lately. Maybe just coincidence.

Scares the out of me. Not because I'm ridin' dirty. Haven't been pulled over and they're always driving off after a minute or so. But what if I need to make an emergency move?

Four weeks ago, my RR got jacked in the galleria area and turned up two weeks later in Spring.

lucky, only mirrors and license-plate bracket were missing

(and a part of my soul).

Getting lojack and maybe a big chain until I get a house.

I live in spring and had my 07 R6 stolen.
