Almost time for a new one, however I'm holding out for the 2010 model. I think.

Yea, whats up with the 2010 model? It seems like they made a pretty significant upgrade to it this year and just seems odd that they are talking about more stuff on the next years model. It would be crazy if they put the big bang motor in it like the R1 has. From what I'm reading in all the different magazines it looks like all of the manufactures are going to shift towards this being the norm in engine design. Ducati and now Yamaha are already doing it. The others are entertaining the thought. I'm thinking it's to stay competitive in the market.

agreed. im going to go out on a limb and say that yamaha will probably try and do something similar to what they did with the r1 engine to created more low end torque. only a guess though. however if they do the r6 will be in a class all of its own.

If they go through with it it will set the standard. I think we are seeing a new horizon in the function and design of sportbikes.
