i think he knew what was going on and made it ! he was already running before the rotor came around

i've seen it too many times....heli pilots trying to taxi/land like planes. just not a smart thing to do. those things aren't nearly as stable on their landing gear, nor were they designed to taxi like that, and even the slightest bump can knock your feet off of the pedals.

Looks like he most likely clipped his tail rotor on the ground with that aggressive landing angle. He then realized he didn't have tail rotation/rudder control and knew they would roll over if he continued his rollout on the ground, so he decided to lift it up off the ground again, which was a bad move, because it then started to spin like an amusement park ride!!!

I agree also with above. looks like he either hit the ground too hard and broke tail rudder or it hit the ground and broke. towards the end KINDA looks like there is a shadow in the dust going from left to right, maybe that one guy still running. hope so.
