Dovizioso realistic about Qatar challenge

Quote:
"We need to improve" says new Repsol Honda man

REPSOL HONDA new boy Andrea Dovizioso has said Qatar will be a challenging race, as his RC212V is still lagging behind the rest of the MotoGP field. The talented Italian is still also getting to grips with Bridgestone tyres.
“We have to improve,” he said. Honda had made the engine a little less aggressive, per his earlier requests, “but still not enough”.

The other difficulty was “learning to understand the weight and stress on the tyre. Everyone has put more weight on the rear, but we do not have enough kilometres yet. The new testing rules have made things much worse for us.”

Dovizioso was seventh in the televised timed session. “For me it was a fast lap time. But the others were faster,” he grinned. Honda had brought many parts to test, and they had made some progress.

But he said the lack of his senior team-mate Dani Pedrosa had made no difference to him. “It changes nothing. We do our work and he does his. Also I want to test all the parts, not just take those that Dani likes.”
you tell 'em Dovi
