Who are you assuming caused the accident? Was she going the speed limit, and was he speeding excessively? Or was she crawling along at too slow a speed to be safe, and he was indeed going the speed limit when she suddenly turned in front of him? If she was hit in the rear, she was probably not crawling, otherwise she would have been hit on the side.

Neither one of us know who was at fault, nor the circumstances behind the accident, except for the rider and the girl... and whatever was determined by the cops, with what they wrote in the Accident Report. One of them is likely to be the moron, that's for sure.

Well the OP stated that she switched lanes on him so . I assumed it was her fault as well.

I am glad your friend made it out alive.

If you are riding a sportbike, it is implied that you are at fault, for speeding. It may have been the girl's fault to change lane but if he was doing excessive speed that may have been his contribution to the accident.

Switched lanes with enough time to be rear-ended, which means she had completely moved over into the lane he was riding in, prior to impact.

But like I said, nobody knows enough to make an assured statement that the driver of the cage was the moron in this situation. The OP is hearsay.

True that riders get 80% of the blame for speeding but SOME of us do obey the speed limits and still get into accidents. I see people switch lanes without looking because they are to DISTRACTED by cell phones, applying makeup, or the cd player. Just because the word rear ended was mentioned doesn't imply that he hit dead center of the tailgate. Going to work in the mornings, It's easy to see people switch lanes not slowly but as quick as possible, causing the cars coming up to start laying on the brakes.

Wasn't trying to be a about my comment, that's why I asked and yes I implied she was a moron because you have to admit that there aren't too many cagers looking for riders while driving!!

where he wrecked the right lane was merging on to the main road and he was doing about 60 in a 55 she jump the solid white line into his lane and there was no where for him to go but into her which she was going about 40 when she got into his lane.

all in all she was at blame thanks to plenty of eye witnesses.
