Question rain yesterday, slid through an intersection, guned to avoid train, redlight camera Q

talk about a pucker moment

I was trying to beat the storm, leaving downtown to get on the 45 HOV south.

Going about 35mph only.

Coming up to the intersection (main st. I think) that has the light-rail.

Light turns yellow, I start to stop but nope, lost traction with the rear (maybe to hard on the rear brake?)

Wet road, maybe some oil but the rear started to drift, then I notice the lights indicating the train is coming.

I had a line through the intersection, but had to run the light (already slid into the intersection anyway)

Dump it or gun it. Dumping it I thought I could end up in the path of the train, with a bike on me.

So, I guned it.

I know there is a red lignt camera.

I am because a cop would have seen it, the camera just takes pics and video.

Has anyone had any success fighting a redlight camera ticket in a sutuation like this?

You can request a hearing; here is the form:

I believe that there are multiple images taken (it is explained on their website). So one can hope that it shows your slide as you enter the intersection.

Yea, It happened so fast, everything was instant reaction, no real thought, just instant decisions/action it seemed.

Had to thank the Lord for that one big time.

Funny thing, that morning the wife said "don't ride today it will rain"

I said, "they said that the last 3 days and no rain, I'm riding"

I will listen next time she says that.

Tuck your plate and get pulled over by a cop because he can't see it (happened to me before). Photo spray to avoid cameras is a hoax. It's been proven so many times.
