Front tire suggestions

Hey guys I had a flat last week on my front tire on my 08 250. Now I am curious what to replace it with. It will be seeing alot of street/backroads but I also am planning on hopefully doing 3-4 trackdays. So what suggestions do you guys have for tires in that size that will be good for dual use? I was told one of the shinkos(sp) would be pretty good.

Sorry to put in racer section just figured I would get better responses here

Pilot Powers served me WELL for a few years, braving the back roads of North Carolina. Plus they have a dual compound street tire out that can give you that little extra grip, however, I've never tried those on the street or track.

I'm currently running Bridgestone BT-002RS tires, which have worked just as well on the track for me, and I would assume the same would be true for aggresive street riding. The front tire is dual compound, giving you that little extra grip/feel.......

That's just my 2 cents. I can only speak for those 2 tires because that's all that I've used for the past 5 or so years.

Of course, your budget will dictate what you can and cannot buy.

Right I forgot to put in price. I'm not set but don't want to spend more than about $130 for the tire. The dealership down here told me it be about $50 to get it mounted and balanced. But if someone on here has a deal I will be at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on the 4th cornerworking and could bring just the rim up there

There are a few characters on here that I'm sure are willing to give you hand.

It might just depend on what tire you go with........

Shinkos are chit. PM Jon at SCracecenter. He can hook you up with a BT002 or similar front. AND free mount and balance off the bike methinks. He will be at TWS (Texas World Speedway) the weekend of the 4th (or should be) you can get it done then.

I have some Race take off fronts for $25. They should get the job done and not break the bank.

Very cool! Appreciate that, I will plan to bring my wheel/tire up there. Are you going to be up at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on the 4th? I may stick around on the 5th too just to hang out, not sure yet.

Thanks for the hookup on the tire on Saturday by the way!! Appreciate it! When I told him I understand it might cost extra because of the fix a flat in it he just chuckled and said I was probably the 5th person to bring a tire in with it. And now I have a pretty good tire mounted and balanced for $25

After my first trackday on the 25th this month I'll gauge how serious I am about these trackdays and may be getting something better really quick. If you get any take-offs that I can fit on the rear of my 250 hold them off for me or shoot me a pm to let me know!
