well if your not going around w/o a lid, then he has no reason as far as "no lid" is concerned.

you have togo DPS office to get the form. send it in to the state.

The sticker question was in reference to the lane splitting bill - you'd have to take the MSF course or have 10K in medical insurance to comply with the lane splitting law. Those are the same requirements as going helmetless. That's why I was asking about the sticker. I don't want them pulling me over 5 times a day to check for a 4uckin certificate.

I was posting about the Lane Splitting bill, guys. I'm sure there are a million "Helmet, no Helmet" discussions out there without starting a new one.

I can think of several places during my commute where this would be a big help.

I split anyways, bill or no bill.

But be judicious and pick your battles...passing on HOV is very risky. You are between two heavily traveled freeways when in HOV. If you high side or get clipped by a car, you're probably dead.

That's true.

Actually I was looking around in the Texas statutes. I couldn't find anything that said lane splitting was illegal. Anyone, anyone?

Even if this law was passed years from now, I still don't think I would always do it. Houstonians just don't give a about each other and I'm pretty sure they would hate if they saw you passin them up in traffic. Could you imagine someone opening up a door or cutting you off. I've done it before and it just upsets people so I really dont do it anymore. The only time I lane split is when people come in my lane and I'm forced to. lol Its quite fun lane splitting at 90mph.

Jk Jk

My lane splitting unofficial rules:

1) Dont split at night
2) Dont split tractor trailers, stopped or moving
3) Dont split above 15-20 mph
4) Keep it in 2nd gear so your loud D&D slip-on wont ppl off
5) Split only when cars are stopped or crawling

My favorite is to time the light change at a busy intersection where I'm 100 rows back, splitting slowly while the cars are stopped and then merge in as the cars accelerate when the light changes.

Dude, that is so me. Wave if you see a Telefonica or a blue naked SV650 splitting, cause sure as it'll be me. As far as anyone off, if you show that you're not splitting recklessly people will respect you. Ive had bubbas move their trucks over just so I could get by and I thank them as im hovering around 5-10 mph's. I think its really on how you display your actions in front of the cages.

Even if the law passed, I don't think I will be splitting. Too scared b/c I don't trust drivers. Anyone w/ a bad attitude in traffic can try anything to you - especially in houston.

I won't split on the interstate, but in town, especially at stoplights, I can't stand to putter forward a bit, stop, go forward a bit more, stop, etc. etc. etc. Haven't had anyone open their doors on me yet...

Not sure how it was worded but something like that it is against the law to have 2 vehicles in the same lane together. hence 2 harleys riding side by side.
THAT can be ticketed under that and also that they were racing. NOT speeding as Hardleys don't go that fast
something like that.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, - Just vote for the got dang law and be done with it. I'm from L.A. and sometimes when I'm on my bike I forget where I'm at. Oh well. I'm going through cars regardless. It such being stuck in traffic, clutch hand hurting, your bootie hurts from being in traffic too long, especially in the back of your mind you could have easily been home 20 minutes ago instead of being in traffic for the past hour.
