League City road closure

I'm not sure if this has been posted (I apologize if this is a repost), but I wanted to give everyone a heads-up.

Area near NASA Bypass to be closed this weekend

By Rhiannon Meyers
The Daily News
Published March 25, 2009
LEAGUE CITY — The northbound and southbound lanes of Gulf Freeway will close this weekend as the state’s transportation department continues road construction in the area around NASA Bypass.

Interstate 45 will close between 9 p.m. Friday and noon Sunday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The department will close all southbound lanes between Bay Area Boulevard and NASA Bypass. On the northbound side, the department will close only the inside left lane between FM 518 to NASA Bypass, said Karen Othon, spokeswoman.

The lane closure will allow transportation workers to move concrete barriers, stripe the pavement and install signs in order to direct traffic onto the new pavement just south of Bay Area Boulevard, Othon said.

Motorists heading south on the Gulf Freeway this weekend will be directed off the interstate at Bay Area Boulevard, where they can continue driving on the frontage road, until the next open entrance ramp.

Alternate routes include state Highway 3 for north-south traffic.

I probably did then. Your avatar doesn't look like anyone I remember, but then again, most people don't look at work like their avatars. What do you ride (or DO you ride)? I live about 1/4 mile from Jerod's old apartments in Bay Colony. I can see them from my back yard.

Gulf Freeway won't close this weekend

By Rhiannon Meyers
The Daily News Published March 26, 2009
WEBSTER The Gulf Freeway will not be closed this weekend after all, state transportation department officials said Wednesday.

Instead, the interstate will close between 9 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The transportation department had planned to close the lanes during the weekend to move concrete barriers, stripe the pavement and install signs to direct traffic onto the new pavement just south of Bay Area Boulevard, said Karen Othon, spokeswoman.

Officials have since decided the new concrete needs more time to dry before it can handle traffic, Othon said.

Motorists should be allowed on the new pavement Tuesday, she said.

The department will close all southbound lanes between Bay Area Boulevard and NASA Bypass at 9 p.m. Monday.

On the northbound side, the department will close only the inside left lane between FM 518 to NASA Bypass, Othon said.

Alternate routes include state Highway 3 for north-south traffic.

The interstate was closed for four days earlier this month as crews demolished the NASA Parkway Bridge that crosses Gulf Freeway.

The closure caused minimal traffic congestion.

No. Not unless you put over $3000 down and had someone cosign for you. There are also more terms and conditions like full coverage insurance. If you are only 18 then you should look into how much insurance is going to cost you. For a bike its hella expensive espically full coverage.
