That's what it was when it first opened- they had an agreement with the real Motor Sports Ranch in Cresson to be a "sister" track with them. That all fell through with some issues and then they changed the name to "Mercedes Benz Sugar Land Road Course". People never dropped the "MSR" name even though the track was renamed.

Additionally, it isn't on the South side of Houston, it's in Angleton. The one on the south side of Houston is Grand Sport Speeway.

Take it from a guy that was out of comission for almost a year and several injuries. NEVER go alone to the track, get with some other friends, get to know some other riders, accidents happen and i am not saying you will crash, i am just saying that it is better to have someone that looks after you just in case. Track days are awesome.

^^^ What he said

Finally, we suggest that you DO NOT ride by yourself. Hook up with a friend or another rider attending the event due to the off chance that you are injured and can not load up your belongings and drive yourself home.

I've heard of people riding to trackdays, but its not a good idea. You'll be TIRED on the ride home for sure.

It's best to head out there with a backup plan, if something unfortunate such as a crash happens, how will you get home with no truck or car/trailer?
That's a good point. Anyone interested in trailering my bike to the next event?

I can find a truck, getting a trailer is something else.

Uhual rents utility trailers for ~$40 a day "in town." However, if you can get a truck....you can get to a trackday. I did my first 10 days with just a lightning and a loading ramp. , I used to cram 2 bikes into that bed.

It's pretty much like the MSF class. You ride around some cones in circles and practice hard braking and a couple other things. The only difference is that it's not in a parking lot, the area you ride around on is a little bigger.

I have a trailer I am always willing to loan out for a fellow track addict
