anyone ever spent any quality seat time on a ducati superbike?

748/916/996/998, 749/999, or 848/1098/1198?

What are their seats like? Are they honda-quality wood planks or are they marginally comfortable for decent length rides?

My ZX10 seat is nice and comfy...

the Ducs i've ridden.. not so much. the 748, 916, 996, and 1098 i've ridden aren't bikes i'd want to take a longer trip on... a buddy of mine rode his 1098 from Dallas to Cleveland last year... he's nuts though.

not real comfortable but like Martin said the motor makes up for that. The most unconfortable for a passenger was our R1 that seat killed the cooter with the strap that went across the thin seat. The most comfortable that I have ever ridden was our old cbr600 and the Busa is like riding around in a recliner.

I exceed the recommended weight for most subframes solo. I'll never have passengers.

Not dead set on getting a duc, but looking for a bike to put some freeway miles on so don't want a sore every time I feel like riding.

Really? I love the look of that machine. I miss the old headlight design they had on the 748,916, & 996
