Bike(s):
Kawasaki EX250 (dead due to mechanical failure)
Kawasaki EX500 (on loan from a friend)
Pending, bikeless once the 500 gone :-(
Want Husky 510SMR or KTM 690 SMC to continue the hooligan activity

i park at an apartment with no lock... for 2 years no problem. It's a nicer area, at the back so not much traffic, used to worry me... but now some squid just bought a shiny brand new Gixxer, and i'm parked 4 spots over with a beatup, fairings falling off, dirty and grimy, 2007 brown fugly commuting ex500 with over 30,000 on it since 07.... SO i'm not too worried as I carry full insurance on it for $44 a month. It'd almost be cheaper just to have it lifted than pay it off anyway lol.

That's one advantage of tards, and the ratty older looking bikes, they aren't prime candidates for the greedy eye.

And yes, i'll be getting a house w/garage before I get a shiny new bike. i've only got this one till june (its my friends who also left it outside and its ignored)

SO solution = buy an ugly ex500 and save on lojack. :-) I can still hightail it through traffic with the best of you (ghost rider learned from me )

Hey my Honda was stolen out of a locked garage along with a 4wheeler..
Long story short, I located the guy thru eyes open thread like this one and phone calls..
And he got a face of my 9mm and a pair of shiney new bracelets, now he currently resides at gray bar hotel..
Thieves suck if they want your bike bad enough they will get it!
Lo-Jack is awesome but communication and guns are better (for me anyway)

2. don't take ur bike anywhere that it'll be unattended - movies, mall, shopping, keep it parked up front of parking lots and keep it in sight. it only takes 5 minutes, a pick up truck, and 2 idiots to pick up a bike

3. for the love of , GET LOJACK installed - quit worrying about upgrades like body light kits, slip on, cool stickers, tinted visor, invest first in theft se f@# curity!

i absolutely hate reading threads of friends or friends of friends gettin got. use a little more common sense and lock these things up people. times r gettin tough. stealing is only gonna get worse out here. and i'll always help and keep my eyes open for a stolen bike
far less than that. me and ralph had my wifes heavy katana in the back of his truck and strapping it down in under a minute. the guys that actually have practice at this...well, you guess.

Get Lojack, because no matter what... if someone wants your bike bad enough, they WILL find a way to get it. If you have Lojack, then you'll have a better chance of recovering it back.

Straight up PREVENTION, PREVENTION, PREVENTION!!!!

For those of u who haven't seen it yet or haven't been told..... SF ins has increased their rates on motos, and ALL of that has to do with the increase in claims we've experienced in the area within the past 2-3 yrs. I've had about 5 totals out of my office alone in the past year.

I expect them to keep going up, considering not only the thefts but the collisions.

I've had 2 bikes over the past 7 yrs and have NEVER FILED 1 claim, prevention is the key!

I have had a total with SF. I had a theft/total loss with Dairyland 10 years ago.

I honestly wouldn't mind if my bike got stolen. Less stress off my back. It's called insurance. Why buy a bike (which is a luxury item) and no have it covered? I had full coverage on my project bike that I didn't ride for a whole year. Its worth it.

I pay for the right to be able to park my in comfort where I want to.

I wasn't about to let this sell a stolen bike in Houston. I don't know who the bike belonged to, but a member here on MotoHouston supposedly bought it from the kid selling it on Craigslist.

It was recovered today. I don't know any more details other than it was recovered.

thieves and people who know that a bike is most likely stolen yet still buy it. you.
I hope both douches get whats coming to them.

Amen bro. Buying a stolen bike is just as bad as selling one. You're rolling the gears in the theft business, and keeping it going. I just wanna go up a bike thief already. I hope they come and try to steal my bike, because it would be a happy John Horn ending for sure.
