Unhappy My cousin went down.

As some of you might know, my cousin just joined us in the ranks of 2 wheeled riders a little less than 3 weeks ago. I was able to get him to take MSF, he got a lid, and was going to try to pick up a jacket Sunday. Wouldn't you know it, he went down Saturday night behind Baybrook Mall . Apparently, there are grooves (about 3" deep) in the road from a vehicle driving through the wet cement. He didn't see them til it was too late and highsided. I don't have the full story as to how exactly it happened, but my understanding is that the groove guided the front wheel to the right and the bike kept going straight . He was taken the hospital and thanks to my MH FAMILY we were able to get the bike home w/o the vultures (6 tow truck drivers were waiting for one bike ) taking it away. Overall the damage to the bike is cosmetic as far as we can tell from giving it a quick once over and my cousin will be alright once his road rash heals. He now knows the importance of knee armor and jackets

Damages

Bike:
-upper (headlights, mirror, windscreen)
-left side (mid & lower)
-tail
-left foot peg
-stator cover
-top of triple tree (looks like the clip on is fine but the bolt snapped the hole that held the clip on to the triple tree cover)

Cousin:
-road rash on all 4 limbs
-light rash on back
-broken pinky toe (not sure how but it happened )

Special thanks to:
-Brett(sbfuller): Thank you for being willing to drop what you were doing to come help me load the bike w/your ramp
-Chris & Son(C.Hern): Thank you for having Josh and friend show up to help anyway needed
-Mike(Azylum): Thank you for dropping everything and rushing home to offer up your trailer and for letting me use your tie down straps
-Nick(R6Nick): THANK YOU! for delaying your plans so that you could trailer the bike to my aunt's house and being such an all around good guy!

I'll try to remember to post up pics tonight.

Sorry to hear about it. My cousin is still dealing with the effects of his MC crash back in December. Dude still can't drive, but he is still with us. Best of luck to your cousin and his recovery.

Ouch man. Sorry to hear, but very glad to hear he came out alright.

Quick question on gear just out of curiosity. Was he wearing shorts or pants? Tennis shoes, or boots, or..? Once again very glad to hear he came out relatively good!

the only actual gear was his lid; other than that he was wearing a hoodie, jeans, and some work boots......the boots made it out ok, everything else was shredded
