Talking

ah yes that 14 yr old lookin chic passing people on a motard, i thought it was pretty funny seeing people tryign to get their knee down and think there going fast with this girl on a dirtbike with blonde hair coming out the back of the helmet pass them. i didnt get the chance to ride out there with her but like you said i think i should spoil myself, because not only did i do better then i expected. i could do even better now that steve O and others dont think i can hang with group A riders, somone mentioned its not a race, i wasnt treating it like one.. if its a learning experience thats designed to help better your riding then i was just at a comfortable pace... and yes i mention im 19 which does matter cuz that sure as means i have all time time in the world to learn and grow with the sport to maybe be something great by the time im yalls ages if not sooner. And yes i do think its a good idea if next time out i dedicate it to braking markers and such riding with an instructor. but im still gonna try and break 2 minutes since everyones making a big deal about that time as for steve O i think i saw you? f4i with red windshield? if so you were slow =)

Nope, I wasn't there... Too bad for you, but you did just insult another member of MotoHouston. Way to go!

I'm sure we'll meet at future trackdays though. :icon_bigg

I think the red/white/silver tail F4i with the red windshield was Jerred's bike, the guy who you contacted to work a corner... He also mentioned some kind of bike problem but wanted some tracktime anyway for the second half.

Education Hurts, lets hope it will be the only thing around here that does.

Nah Steve, don't want to stir the pot more than it's been stirred.

By the way, anyone knows the website of the guy that was taking pictures at TWS (Texas World Speedway)???

ok, resisting my urge to not comment, let me say this much.

2:06 in such conditions, without having crashed, is pretty decent. but dont let it be a one-off thing. i m too much of a noob to say this with any authority, but if u REALLY want to be good in this sport, learn to keep ur emotions in check. that itch to twist the right wrist is an overwhelming emotion, if u cant control an emotion like ego, how the will u control that one when the need be!

best of lck.

the corner at turn 12

Well since I worked turn 12 from the first lap to the last I pretty much saw everyone ride. The red flags were being thrown up for a reason....people kept crashing. I'm glad I chose to sit this one out, I'll catch a trackday later in the spring when things warm up a bit. Also, the CW's had a hard time communicating to each other due to radio problems. Mine died several times throughout the day and it's an issue that I will e-mail Jarrell about. I think they could do better with 5 watt GMRS radios, but you're technically supposed to have a license to operate one. The chick on the DRZ400 is my hero. She was did okay in the straights but made up for it in the turns.

I wouldn't (and no one should) go A group till you can consistently break 2:00. Last time I ran A group at TWS (Texas World Speedway) I was running 1:58 - 2:02 pretty consistently and I was one of the slowest guys in the group. There was another guy in A running close to the same times as me (prob 2:05), but he really should have been in B or maybe C. Each lap he would blow at least 2 entries and 1 or 2 exits. In one session, he ran off into the grass twice in front of me. Just as expected, later that day he ran off the into the grass/dirt faster and binned his bike (2005 R1 ).

So, time isn't everything. Just be careful out there.

If you still think you're johnny racer after your first time out, then maybe you should sign up for your CMRA license...
