A f*cked up trackday @TWS (Texas World Speedway)

name says it. first off id like to say wtf to the people who were bout me going straight into B after seeing people run all day i shoulda probably been in A. ok so i start the day off and pass everything in my path and get up to lead intructor in no time. he sees me and starts pointing at me and motioning to the back of the track. so i did get behind him and i mean right behind him, he decides to haul and leave me behind but i stayed to his back wheel easily (yes it was my first trackday) after coming back into pit, he comes up to me and tell me to get the fk outta c group and move up to the next one or quit for the day, so i did. 2nd. who all went?? and wtf is up with a red flag every 10 minutes?

while corner working i happend to be put a in a situation i havnt been in before. some guy in group A comes off the straight and goes into turn 2 which leads you away from the straight and is kinda narrow, if you were to go off the track in that turn you have a ditch meet and many deep holes in the ground. He goes into the turn to hot and decides to pick the bike upright and run off the track, so i see him do his cartwheels and the bike break into pieces.. i called redflag and when i stood up on the tires to see the condition of the rider, hes not moving and laying face down. so i let them know on radio im gonna help himm and run across to him after red flagging riders to go see if hes dead or what. approaching him he was gurggling and breathing really deep. Igrabbed his hand and asked him to squeeze back which he didnt, and i can hear that hes choking on something.. with no ambulances around i couldnt wait. i put my arms under him and very steadly put him on his side and opened just his visor to find his gums with the teeth still in them on his nose and the other half he was choking on. overall his airway was cleared and medics showed up a few minutes later. i believe the guys name was andy, for you who went to the trackday and were asking on the radio what happened to him, thats it. If anyone knows the update on the guy let us know. (and this should fill in most of the trackday. fun, easy. and sad all at the sametime. enjoy the novel and the typos as i dont care to go back and correct them) =)

Dude, thats a bad visual you gave me there. Hope that guy pulls through. Just wondering, you were'nt doing the "round robin" when you passed everyone in sight were you? Trust me, if that instructor wanted to leave you, he would have. It's not a race dude, slow your role and you'll learn alot more.

Curios about your lap times as well. It seems it is like this every year. Alot of red flags during the february track days. Exactly why I do not like them and will be sitting them out.

Post up your times and what is your age?

That is pretty awesome man. Anything getting near the 2 minute mark is a good time out there. Of course the lap record is close to 1.44 I believe but once you hit the 2 minute mark you are running A group pace. You should hook up with Patrick on your next outing and rent a timer to check your pace. So did you enjoy the track? TWS (Texas World Speedway) is like riding back roads in my opinion. It was kind of freaky at first because you can't really find reference points off of the track and that wall is a head trip. In fact the whole T8/T9 is weird.

Wish I was 19 and running my measely 2 minute laps. Would mean I had plenty of youth left to actually take my riding seriously.

, that's great, I guess your natural abilities are high, but don't let that get to your head, TWS (Texas World Speedway), as any other track, it's about learning it's nuances first. Would gonna blast truh a blind corner on the street? of course not, treat the track the same. Who knows, in two or three more track days you could be running there with the veterans in group A

Crashing has a funny way to humbling anyone, and I whish you never crash.

I enjoyed my day there yesterday, funny thing is, I knew I was going to be rusty, so I decided to ask to be put on group C, but Jerrel maybe missunderstood and gave me the sticker for group B, and in my first session I was holding a few people back.....hmm...so i decided to go to group C, by then I was faster since I was finding my own lines again, and passing people, inclusing two in the horseshoe and one in T8/T9, which I shouln't have done it.:BangHead:

Anyway, what bike where you running?
