Where do you store your helmet?

Not do you leave your helmet with your bike when you go into the mall or to eat. Where do you put your helmet when you park your bike for the night.

We store our helmets (dirt and street - 4 riders in the house) in the garage on wooden shelving from Ikea - 10 helmets. . Never any problems with moisture or bugs.

Some say they put them in a closet. Some admit to leaving the helmet on the seat or mirror of their bikes. While some just dump their helmet on a counter or table inside the house/apartment each night.

I realize where you live and whether or not you have a garage makes a diffence in where you leave your helmet. It also makes a difference if you are a daily or weekend rider. So after voting, please post up WHY.

Thanks!

All 3 are sitting on my dresser in my room And my throw around helmet is in the garage for whenever I ride around the neighborhood to do test rides or to warm my chain up for a lube job

The routine is to take gear completely off in the kitchen and put gloves and helmet on the table w the jacket on the chair. Easy enough.

, I'd be more worried about the humidity and all the other stuff that can take a toll on it.

what's the recommended time before you should replace a helmet whether or not it's been down?

On a table in the house. Once in a great while a little house spider will find his way in there...I don't even want to imagine what could take up residence if I left it in the garage. Plus, as folks have mentioned, I don't want the humidity and elements affecting it.

Oh, those Scorpion helmet cases look like a pretty good place to store a helmet too!

I have a closet in the house for nothing but gear and bike stuff.

Helmets, gloves, jackets, boots....all INSIDE, not in a garage where spiders and other insects can make themselves cozy!!
