Went to cycle gear today and they had the A*, ICON and 1 EVS. The A* doesn't have a strap for the knee, and I could see it dragging down over time. The ICONS were actually very good but the knee strap isn't long enough for my man knees, and I don't really need the shin guard. The EVS was like a neoprene blanket and I could see it getting really sweaty real fast. EVS has a large selection so I will probably find one I like and order it online or through CG or whomever has the best price

I bought the EVS last week and I LOVE them! They really aren't bad at all as far as getting sweaty.

Well EVS makes a lot of different knee pads but the ones that CG had were a neoprene sleeve that was way too long and excessive...

I kind of like the EVS Bartrams for $50 because they are just basic knee protection. My boots cover the shins so there wouldn't be any overlap...

Here are the ones that I bought at CG. They were $18 and are VERY comfortable. They are a lot like the A*, but much more durable. I saw the neoprene ones, but thought that my legs would sweat like . Also, read some reviews on the A* pads. The reviews aren't great.

I have some A*s, but they slide down a little when I ride. Don't know if they'll protect my knees or not.

I tried on several kneeguards from A*, ICON, EVS, etc. in the largest sizes and none fit They fit fine on the calf, for the most part, but all are impossible to fit around my thigh area...any suggestions?

I'm talking about the upper part of the knee guard that goes above the kneecap. That area of my leg (thigh) is very thick.

How are your sewing skills? I'm thinking you could extend the straps fairly easily/cheaply, no?

Try the brand EVS... I have those knee pads. I was running into the same problem. These are great. No where do they strap around your. Upper Calf and lower calf plus they are comfortable as ! Hope this help bro

Like the ones Spectre pointed out. You dont need them to be tight and secure as . Your jeans and went your knee is bent hold them in place fine!

I think I'am going to go with the icon knee pads, the ones built into my pants feel like the would move around too much if I were to go down.

picked up a pair of A* "Reflex" knee pads, about $23 after tax and they fit under my work slacks.

I can't wait to NOT crash test them
