TWS (Texas World Speedway) - feb 6

what a freaking day. awesome for me personally..I finally lost my track virginity as i got my kneee and boot down in turn 5 and 12..lol, but a BAD BAD BAD day otherwise. have never seen these many crashes on a single day. hope that guy who went down in turn 1 recovers fine.

Leo, after u left, one instructor crashed into THE WALL in the mock race. his bike was jammed up bad in there, but he walked away cool i heard. lucky man. , that stupid fcking wall scares the out of me

just heard about all that mess at cycle gear, hope everyone's ok. personally, I'm still a ways off from being ready for a track day this season...valve adjustment and rear shock are on the must-do list, new rear sets on the would-love-to-do list. need $$... sigh.

Yes that first touch down on tarmac with a slider is a great feeling! unless your stock rear sets banging on the ground too...that sucks.

are you talking about the tire wall or NASCAR banking?

m talking about the tire wall man..

5-10 red flags, countless yellows today. Rusty skills at season's first track day, coupled with cold surface and strong wind meant bad news..

Glad to see you made it back in one piece Calcat. My wrist kept twitching irradically all day long while I sat at my desk today. I do believe I'm having some sort of withdrawals.

An instructor crashed the wall?/ , indeed a wild day. I saw you hauling kalkat, nice, very nice.

I had a great day, my first session i was struggling so much trying to find my lines, and since i haven't been on the bike for the last three months and a half, it was very difficult to mmove around the bike, but the second, third and fourth sessions it was all cool, I was passing people like crazy, but at the same time trying not to get overly confident and make a stupid mistake. About the only problem I had, in the last session, on turn 12 I leaned all the way to the peg, not a nice feeling, I still have a lot to work to do with my body positioning.

Can't wait for the next track day.:icon_bigg

What a day what a day, sounds like there were more crashes after I left, I hope every1 made it ok.

Unfortunate I was one of those that went down in A group, my back wheel lost traction on T4 and sent me on a lowside, I walked away unhurt and able to ride back to the pits but my trackday was over, bent stay bracket, exhaust and no front brakes.

I am not very into February track days for this reason. You really have to approach them with a slower pace and work on fundementals but, not everybody is up for doing that so lots of red flags. It was the same way last year. :eh:

it seems like when someone does something kinda big to their bikes they wind up crashing afterwards, I'm kinda worried about going next time..
Henry, new bike= crashes this year
Carlos, new bike= crashes this year
Moody, new plastics= crashes last year.

and it always happens the first time out.
I dont know if i want to put those track skins on my R1 now... ?!?!?!?!?!

what to do

Don't get to excited. That was my problem. I forgot about it being first session and all and just wanted to haul . Wait till 3rd session as usual to really start blazing.
