I personally like the alpine stars line for gloves and jackets. as for helmets, arai, scorpion and shoi are great

Shark helmets make a good lid. They are having some killer deals on closeout items too.

I like the Frank thomas gloves i bought the other day.

A good jacket. Up to you, what is most comfy for you. I like frank thomas, Alpine Stars makes a good jacket as well. Check out CG and our site sponsors.

Shoei lid, Alpine Star gloves, and the leather jacket of your choice. I would get one t=with a 1/4 zipper at least so you can attach to pants later if you want to run on a track.

I thought it was 3/4 zipper? I might be confused on that though. I need to get gear for track though so I suppose I need to go find out.

...the most gear and the best gear you can afford.

Whatever quailty brand helmet fits you best, and the same for the other items as well.

Mine has both. A 2 piece doesnt zip a true 360. Some come with about a 10-12" zipper in the back and some are about front pocket to front pocket.

Gear is kind of like women, everybody likes something different. Stick with the name brands. Comfort first (if it doesn't feel right, you won't wear it). Look for the full zipper if you're going to do trackdays.

I prefer Alpine, Komodo, Sidi, Scorpion helmet.

Keep in mind that if you take a MSF course, you'll get a lot of info about what to look for in gear as well as some coupons to save you some money.
