Question H.I.D's

I've read several threads regarding HID's and I've decided to get some for my bike. I was wondering if anyone had any preferred companies that they've dealt with as I'm leaning towards the DDM brands. Also are these something that I can install myself. If not I'd probably take them to Motorcycles Unlimited to install? Thanks for the information.

PS is there a thread that will explain all the forum lingo? As a newb here I get lost sometimes. For example what does HAK mean?
