Missing Grating on St. Joseph - Downtown

Watch out if you ride down St. Joseph. There was a large section of rectangular grating missing between Main and Louisiana in the right lane this morning. Big enough to trap a front or rear tire, and parallel to traffic flow. It will become harder to see in daylight.

Already reported to the city, but be on the lookout.

Appreciate the heads up, but tnxt time please post this about a day before the grate goes out.

And for the record, it wasn't quite big enough to trap a rear tire at 45, but more than big enough to suck the rear in if the front tire rides the edge of the gap.

Glad it wasn't too far from the hospital, I thought I might have to go to the ER to get the seat removed from my .

No kidding. I missed it by a couple feet, but it messed with my head a little for the rest of my trip. Found myself playing slalom with all the manhole covers on Louisiana.

AGAIN!!!!!, I called 311 2 months ago about that (a few sections by the hospital), they fixed it after about 3 or 4 weeks..

Someone is jacking the grating, and yes, that hole would swallow your front tire.

No doubt it would swallow a front wheel to the forks. Look at Street View It starts just past the manhole cover, middle of right lane, and runs a full block. A 2-3 foot section is missing.
