Let me know when you get one and want to do a SS swingarm on it. I have done it before. The black XX's are 2003 and 1999's. '03s are metalic and '99s are straight black. Go to CBR1100XX.org for more info. Stay away from the .com site. It's for old guys,,,

This is one of my favorite all time bikes. Good choice.

When I was in the UK last month I saw several of these bikes over there. You may see one over here once every six months. Pretty popular in the UK.

And just my opinion. Those red Hong Kong plastics really look good. But if it were me I would just keep it black. It wouldn't be a Blackbird otherwise.

Why in the world did Honda stop making this bike is beyond me. I think it would have been a good competetor against the Busa and ZX14.

nice bike texasdawg.

The blackbird was one of the last great bikes Honda produced before Soichiro passed away.
I doubt they will ever produce another bike like that now that the company is ran by lawyers and accountants instead of enthusiasts.

Very aptly said, there is a cult following for the blackbird in Europe & rest of the world, it is a rare sight in the US. It is a balanced mix of power, performance and reliability. Gr8 choice for the next bike, goodluck. "You can never go wrong with a Honda" -- cheers !!

nah, really they are extraordinarily powerful bikes that are made for getting to high rates of speed very quickly, actually watched robert run down an 08ish r1 on his busa last night after the guy had about a 3-4 bike lead off the line
