My rotor rivets wore loose and made a click sound when hitting bumps at low speeds or stopping. But of course my rotors had over 50K hard miles on them. I replaced them and wala, smooth braking and no more clicking. I thought it was my head bearings as well cause it felt like it was coming from there. I wouldn't be too quick to replace the head bearing without verifying where it is coming from.
