I've ridden an 08. Freaking great bikes. You are really over the front end a bit, but you get used to it. The triple makes power that's just right. Stops great also.

I have an 09, and while there are a number of changes this model year, one thing is for certain - the Daytona 675 is a winner. The 09 model was given the highest reviews in a head to head shoot out of both street and track test by 4 or 5 major motorcycle magazines. I read all the reviews before I picked mine up, you should do the same.

There are a lot of great bikes out there, and you can't hardly go wrong with anything you choose, but the 675 is really a bike that shines.

The triple is the sweetest sounding engine bar none.

The big 1050 triple sounds a bit like a Dodge Diesel when you roll on and off the throttle. I know it seems goofy, but it really does with a good set of pipes. Very fun. The 675 sounded more bike like.

The Triumph I want to try out is the big cruiser Rocket III with the inline three. Just for a something different.

Don't get a Daytona. I repeat don't get a Daytona. They're trash, nothing is good about it. Remember don't buy one. I repeat don't buy one.

The brand/model you see the most is the best brand/model of bikes.

I disagree completely. If that messed up logic were true then Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, and BMW would have to be considered inferior to Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai. Popularity determines what's best? Hardly....and best is such a generic term anyway. Best for what?

You should ride all the bikes you're considering, sit your azz on everything. Read some reviews and then pick based on that and your own personal experience.

BTW, what type of riding do you do, or plan to do?
That should play a factor in choosing the right bike IMO.
