Vulcan 1500 clutch not releasing

My dad's looking at a 2000 vulcan 1500, but when you put it into gear and release the clutch nothing happens at all. I wouldn't think that a clutch going out would be that bad.

is it hydrolic or cable?
hydrolic then can just be just air in the line, bad master or slave cylinder.
would start there.

I would start by using a mityvac on the clutch and make sure all the air is out. Does he have any clutch pull at the handle at all?
pull the fluid out thru the zirt on the slave cylinder, on my v-max it is down near the shifter, left side, make sure that u keep the master cylinder full, pull several ounces thru that to make sure it is ALL fluid. Then if still nothing u may have to rebuild the slave cylinder or master cylinder.
