motard triple clamp offset

WOOOOOW what a difference this makes ...

so i have 2 bikes the 450 and the 560 ... both come with adjustable triples ... I have always wondered why i feel more comfortable railing on the 450 and like it turns and just moves better .. well while doing some research on the bikes I noticed that the 450s come with a 14-16mm adjustable triple , and the 560 came with an 18-20.

The 450 is setup at 14mm , while the 560 is at 20mm .... I plan on flipping the triple of the 560 to 18mm until i can get my hands on another set of 14mm triples

just wanted to rant since its been almost 2 tract days and MANY days of trying to figure out why i liked riding one bike more than the other

cool deal.
I was gonna buy some offset triples too, but I like the way the bike handles now. Like they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

This is what you don't learn by hanging around MH all day, Greg. SMJ, dude! But you knew that already.

BTW, Red Baron makes a very fine set of triples if you want more adjustability.

what is offset/adjustable on the triples? or what does the offset measure? i've never understood this.

is it the rake? the height?

I believe it's how far forward the fork legs are offset from the steering stem.
At least that was my assumpsion.
