Thanks for sharing the pictures, Keith. On the Desmo, are all Desmo's RR's or was that one special?

Curt,

Here is an explanation I stole from Wiki that explains it better than I could:

Quote:
In 2004, Ducati announced that they would be producing a low volume bespoke replica of the Desmosedici, available from 2006.
Termed the Desmosedici RR (Racing Replica), it was claimed to be the first true road replica of a MotoGP racing bike. Priority for ordering was given to Ducati 999R owners, with production projected at one bike per day at a retail cost of US$72,500[12] and GBP£40,000.[13] The price includes a three year warranty and servicing, cover plus a racing kit including a "race only" exhaust system, a "slip-on" muffler and complimentary fuel and ignition mapping in a "race ECU". Production has been limited to 1500 motorcycles. It also includes Sponsor Stickers, enough to fill both sides of the bike.
The bike was eventually launched at the 2006 Italian MotoGP event at Mugello, with production beginning in December 2007 and the first customer orders delivered from January 2008. Ducati guaranteed customer orders will be fulfilled by the end of 2008. The entire allocation for the United States sold out in five hours.[1]

Here are a couple more Desmo pics. Sorry they aren't the best, they were in a room shaped like a helmet, very cool but difficult to get far enough away to get a good picture:

I really wish I could have taken pictures of the actual factory for you all to see. It was amazing watching them CNC parts then watch them cruise down the assembly line until, 3 hours later, it was a turn-key motorcycle.

Lucky...... That is badass. Thanks for taking the time to share all of these. That mosaic wall is really cool. Wish I could have seen that in person. How big is the wall?

I was there in 2001 and it is a must for any true Ducatista...I also visited Cagiva and MV Agusta. Next time I am shooting for Aprilia...

Has anybody ever visited any of the Japanese manufacturers? If so, please share.
