New Drive-In Movie

They just opened a new Drive-In in Porter, TX (1 Exit past Kingwood on 59N). We went last night and had a lot of fun.

There were quite a few people there but still enough room between the cars. It's not like in the "old days" when you had to park in a space then put the speaker on your window. Now you just tune your car radio to a station and the sound comes through in stereo (or DTS if you've got it).

Real dark too.

They are also in the process of building one on 2920 just west of Roberts-Cemetary Road.

Naw dude, Check out the website. It's like $6 for adults and $18 for a car load - unlimited people.

I know it's old school, but it'll bring back memories for some of us.

Theres a little known trick called the 'accessory' setting also, for the rest of the world. You can actually use stuff in your car with the motor off, gotta be pretty 1337 to find it though...

freakin' awesome, funny how things go retro.
I remember as a wee lad we used to go to drive ins and my parents would hang the big metal (5" x 5" prolly)box speaker on the station wagon window, light up a mosquito coil and those were the days
